ISUOG Six-Step Approach implemented for "at home" autonomous education.

Adapted by doctors Prof. Titia Overbeek Cohen and Prof. Ingrid Brussé from Erasmus University MC, Netherlands.

The International Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) will dictate the course “The 6-Step Approach”, and other contents of BT (Basic Training) using 20 Volutracer OPUS ultrasound simulators.  The innovative educational platform allows “at home” practice of patient cases using convex and transvaginal transducers while the student is being monitored remotely.

The practical sessions with the simulators will be exclusively for the territory of Belgium, but they can be viewed from any country.

The Six-Step Approach content was developed by Doctors Prof. Titia Overbeek Cohen MD and Prof. Ingrid Brussé MD from Erasmus University, Netherlands, together with the Volutracer OPUS Academy. The ensemble includes theoretical content, intelligent practical exercises with GPS guidance, measurements, questionnaires, and evaluations that will make the student shorten the learning curve

In the course of June 13, Prof. Gihad Chalouhi, current head of ISUOG’s Basic Training department, will use his authorship’s adaptation of “The 20 plus 2 planes approach for routine mid-range exploration” for Volutracer OPUS. The OPUS “20 Plus 2” course is regularly used in international missions such as Rwanda, and Oman by the ISUOG Outreach Task Force
